Adding in the crocheted deerstalker hat worked perfectly, even if the hat is slightly too big for his head!<\/p>\n<p>The basic mouse pattern uses <a title=\"Alan Dart May Day Mice Pattern\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alandart.co.uk\/product\/holidays\/may-day-mice\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Dart&#8217;s May Day mouse pattern<\/a>, with suitable colour changes for the trousers &amp; shirt. The scarf and coat were freestyled to make sure they looked just right \ud83d\ude42 And the hat? That came from an <a title=\"Deerstalker pattern\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/deerstalker-amigurumi-ornament--stitch-marker\" target=\"_blank\">ornament pattern<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Kristen Howard on Ravelry.<\/p>\n<p>Seeing as I&#8217;d finished Sherlock Mouse, I\u00a0couldn&#8217;t resist trying another Sherlock pattern &#8211;\u00a0<a title=\"Crocheted Sherlock pattern\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/crocheted-consulting-detective\" target=\"_blank\">Crocheted Consulting Detective<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Vilma Ilona. I&#8217;ve never tried a crochet pattern quite like this one before, so some of the shaping was a challenge, and I will admit the hair instructions left me completely confused, so I made that up as I went along. The hat is loosely based on the same pattern as SherlockMouse&#8217;s, but it was freestyled a bit to make sure it fitted his head properly and covered\u00a0the mess of hair as well!<\/p>\n<p>His head is slightly loose (blame my lack of stuffing skills for such a small space), but the scarf and coat collar help to make sure\u00a0it doesn&#8217;t flop around too much.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-304 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/dragonsflamedesigns.co.uk\/knit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sherlock-3.jpg\" alt=\"Sherlock Crocheted Amigurumi\" width=\"258\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dragonsflamedesigns.co.uk\/knit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sherlock-3.jpg 320w, https:\/\/dragonsflamedesigns.co.uk\/knit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sherlock-3-192x300.jpg 192w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" \/>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-303 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/dragonsflamedesigns.co.uk\/knit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sherlock-1.jpg\" alt=\"Sherlock Amigurumi\" width=\"297\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dragonsflamedesigns.co.uk\/knit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sherlock-1.jpg 369w, https:\/\/dragonsflamedesigns.co.uk\/knit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/sherlock-1-221x300.jpg 221w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the crochet increases have left gaps in the stitches where the stuffing is showing through, but I can work on those and just sew a few lines across to cover those up (the yarn was a little thinner than normal). That&#8217;s also why the trousers &amp; shoes look like they have white sparkles&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>But overall, I&#8217;m pleased with how Sherlock came out, and now he&#8217;s ready to go cluing for looks!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finally, Sherlock Mouse is finished!
